REACH SCHOLARS
Five Grady County Middle School students have been named "Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen" (REACH) Scholars and were awarded $10,000 scholarships in a ceremony Tuesday morning at the Grady County School's Vanlandingham Center. 

The REACH Georgia Program provides support for students with academic promise, to help them successfully progress from middle school, to high school,  through college, with a goal of earning a degree. The students will receive the scholarship funds upon high school graduation. 

The 2022 Grady County REACH Scholars are A'Ryanna Lawton, Cecilia Perez Jimenez and Byron Thomas, all from Washington Middle School, Brett Belk from Whigham School and Jodi Kinner from Shiver School.

The scholarships are made possible by the Georgia Department of Education and local contributions from area businesses and individuals.  Those local contributors this year were: Ameris Bank, The Community Foundation, Jet and Demetrius Cox, Envision Credit Union, 1st National Bank, Ridley Law Firm, Kevin Ross, Royce's Towing, Southern Insurance Managers, Terry Prince, CPA, and United National Bank.
